Process

Depth oriented psychotherapy is a proven and scientifically recognized therapy method, which has shown its effectiveness in a large number of studies in relation to a wide range of mental disorders.

First Session and Steps to Psychotherapy

In a first diagnostic conversation we will discover what burdens you have and which therapeutic method might be best for you. It takes around 4 trial sessions to get to know each other better, find out more about your symptoms, and work on a treatment plan and realistic goals for therapy. If we decide to continue on, then the actual therapy will start. Short-term therapy normally includes 24 sessions. Long-term therapy includes 60 sessions but can be extended if neccesary. The 50 minute session takes place once a week during a set time. My spectrum of treatment includes all clinically relevant psychological disorders seen in adults.

The Methods of Psychodynamic Psychotherapy

Alongside possible solutions to your problems we will put a focus on your biography. We will explore possible unconscious motives and conflicts, look at day-dreams and frequently return to your recent relationships and current incidents. In comparison to psychoanalysis it is less about structural changes of a person and regression as a method, but rather about reducing and solving pre-existing inner conflicts and symptoms.

Relationship Between Therapist and Client

Empathetic listening, enquiring, collective reflections and understanding are substantial elements. Without judgement but with open-mindedness, we explore your past experiences, your current situation, and identify behaviors and (unconscious) beliefs that no longer work for you. Psychodynamic therapy is based on enduring interest for and the willingness to undertsand your individual history. Depth therapy might be right for you if you have an interest in the intensive and patient examination of your relationships, your thoughts, feelings and behavior.

Individual problems require an Individual Approach

As psychotherapist I work with the understanding that the tasks of life often need to be approached and solved individually. Everyone's experiences and perception of the world are unique and require individual care at eye-level.
